BLACK ON BLACK CRIME

I hate crime of any kind. I hate guns. I hate the lack of respect due to the color of one's skin. I saw a story of a young man, killed dead. He was in his own community, minding his own business, and he was gunned down. The media, when informed, ran the story. It was about a young man named Trayvon Martin. The black communities were outraged. How dare this individual shoot this kid and get away with murder? Yes, I was hurt as well. Hurt that this young man had died. But, I hurt every time I hear of blacks being killed by gunfire. I wonder why the communities don't cry out bloody murder or revenge when this takes place daily in their own communities? The gangs, thugs, and drug dealers run rampant. They curse. They refer to the men as ni**as and women as bit**es. They even speak to their children this way. How can you expect the nation to respect you when you don't respect one another. I really wonder if the number of slaves killed during slavery, is lower than the number of blacks losing their life to the modern day crime. People are being raped, robbed, tortured, bullied, and killed. No one is saying anything. No one is taking a stand. People are more consumed with their attire, hair style, jewelry, and cars than their neighbors and communities. I pray that blacks seek God and join in unity. Choose your battles wisely. Yes, demand justice for Trayvon, but also demand justice for all who die due to unnecessary violence. Psalms 50: 20-22 You sit and speak against your brother: you slander your own mother's son. These things you have done, and I kept silence: you thought that I was altogether such an one as yourself: but I will reprove you, and set them in order before your eyes. Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

Repent. Quit putting faith in politicians, police, and in people. Put faith in God. Once you grow in the Lord and be obedient, He will lead you. He will protect your front and your rear. Trust in Him, talk to Him, He answers questions. He is God and He loves us all. All races, cultures, ethnicity's..............He love us equally. Why can we not do the same?

WHY SO ANGRY

People today are so angry. Someone cuts you off in traffic, your child messes up in school, your boss upsets you at work, the waiter messes up your order, you and a friend disagree on a topic........... These are things that occur. It's life. You should not let small things of this nature upset your entire day and destroy relationships. Proverbs 14:29 says "He who is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he who is hasty of spirit exalts folly." Words are powerful. During a fit of rage anger consumes you. Words are spoken that can't be taken back, fights erupt, and lives are destroyed. There is so much violence and murder in the world today. Anger can result in death.

I am so glad God delivered me. There is still much need for improvement. However, I remember many days of arguing and acting a fool. Not to mention if I had consumed alcohol. I was a mess. Many days I have done things that I would later regret. Only if I had control of my anger, I would not have responded the way that I had.

I look at the world today. I am the parent of a male child who is 17. We are African Americans. We live in Orlando. I feel so sad and frightened by the things I see in the world today. Especially things regarding the death of Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman, the murderer, acted in a fit of rage and a young man's life was taken. He has to now regret his actions. He killed an innocent young man. I wonder if African Americans will demand justice for the many lives lost daily. When the thugs, gangbangers, and drug dealers are out on the block and babies, teens, young adults, adults, and senior citizens are getting shot, they are silent. There is a law on the street that says "you don't snitch". It is horrid what they did to Trayvon. It is horrid that the police shoot first and ask questions later. Demand justice for Trayvon Martin. But also demand justice and peace in your homes, schools, neighborhoods, and communities. Quit hating one another but unite in love and stand for righteousness. Grow in God, plead the blood of Jesus, repent! Don't put faith in men. Quit relying on politicians, pastors, and the media to save you. Have faith in God your Father. Be slow to anger. Trust in God and be obedient. Just try this, please just try this. Vengeance is the Lord's. He will repay.
